私たちの住む世界を一瞬のうちに「空虚」にさせたり「充満」させたりするこの幻想、それは物質そのものに内在するものではなく、記憶が作り出す概念の世界です。古代の人々は深遠なる自然に「カミ」の存在を見出し、現代の人々は文明社会に「情報」を見出してきました。常に幻想を作り出そうとする私たちのこの欲望の先にはいったい何があるのでしょうか。
私は絵画作品に「浴槽で見る夢」というタイトルをつけています。浴槽はあらゆる人を社会的地位、また地球の重力から解放してくれる場所です。ニュートラルな状態におかれた肉体と精神は、プリミティブで創造性豊かな夢を私たちに見せてくれるかもしれません。

Fantasy can empty or replenish the world we live in within a moment. It does not exist inside material; rather, it materialises from memories as a conceptual world. The ancients saw “God” in fathomless Mother Nature, as did the modern generation find “information” in civilisation. I wonder where our constant desire for creating fantasy would lead us to.
I name my artworks “Dreams I Dream Inside a Bathtub”. A bathtub as a space can liberate anyone from one’s social standing position and from the gravity of the earth. With your body and mind taking a neutral stand, your dreams may become primordial and enriched in creativity.
