分類・体系化された現代社会構造の中で、私はあやうい土台の上を歩いている感覚に襲われるときがある。確かさを求めるほど、四角四面な世界に入り込んでゆく。確かな「証拠」―それはどんなふうに見えるのか、想像してみたい。

私は画面に四角いカタチを繰り返しスタンプしていく。そして幾重にも重なる層で、確かさというもののあり方の複雑さと輝きを表現している。それは「世界」と「自分のモノの見方、感じ方」が強く結びついた一瞬のきらめきなのかもしれない。マダラダマとは、そんなキラキラと輝く実感をともなった世界を指す造語である。

In the modern categorised, structured society, sometimes I feel as if I am walking on an unsecure platform. The more I seek the certainty, the further I enter into the four-sided world of squares. Certain “proof”, I’d like to imagine what such thing would look like.

I print countless square shapes on the screen. The overlapping layers express the complex and illuming stature of certainty. Perhaps it shows that brief sparkle, where “the world” and “one’s views, senses” connect. Madaradama defines the world sparkling with such certainty.
