わたくしが描いておりますものの、猫は猫の姿をし、花は花の姿をしていても、それは、必ずしもそのものとは限らないのです。たぶん、どこか別の世界の何か違う生き物。生きもの？　生きていないものかもしれないけれど、なにか、意思のある様に思えるもの。そのようなものを描いております。
それはカモメの運んだ扉の向こうであったり、箱の中の箱の中の箱の中の世界であったり、眠りの向こうの人が夢と呼ぶ世界であったりする。そこがわたくしの世界なのです。

Although I may be the painter, and a cat in my painting may take the form of a cat, and a flower in my painting may take the form of a flower, they are not necessarily what they appear to be. These are creatures from another world. Creatures, I say? Though they may not be ‘alive’, these existences seem to have own free will. Those are the things I draw.
An essence of what’s on the other side of the door that the seagull brought back. Or a space within a box inside a box in yet another box. Perhaps the land of a dream a dreamer dreams of. Such places are what I call my world.
