シンプルで深い、そして静かな存在感がテーマです。イメージにあるものは、水、氷、土、光などの自然界の色。例えば、木、石、金属、ガラスなどが、雨や風、太陽の光、湿度、温度によって変化した色や模様、形や質感です。そこには人間の想像を遥かに超えた美しさがあります。
そのようなものが私のイメージの根底にあり、作品製作は、偶然性と必然性を織り交ぜながら、意識的に、また無意識的に出来上がる色や質感を見出す作業です。絵の具を何層も積み重ねては壊す繰り返しにより、画面に製作のプロセスが地層のように残りながら作品は完成しますが、それは自然界にある存在の再現ではなく、あくまでも私の中にある記憶のイメージの表現にほかありません。

Simple yet deep, still yet appealing existence is the concept of my art. My images are based on the colours that can be found in the nature – water, ice, earth, and light, and the textures of objects such as woods, stones, metal and glass weathered by rain and wind, coloured by the sunlight, or altered by the humidity and the heat in the air. The beauty that emerges upon them is far beyond the human imagination.
They are the foundations of my images, and my work consists of weaving contingency and necessity into my canvas to achieve those colours and the textures intentionally and unconsciously. As I build up and wipe away the layers of the paints they accumulate on the canvas and leave the trace in the similar way to strata. They, however, are only the projections of my own imaginations, and are not reconstructions of what can be found in the nature.
